Arzano- 167 clan dismantled: extortion of traders with “pizzo” at Christmas, Easter and August.
Article Key Points
Five arrests including alleged members of the Camorra clan. The investigations: "Pay three installments, not two". The association Sos Impresa: "Reporting is essential to free the territory"
Their presence alone was enough to collect the money. The merchants of arzano, already aware of the “rule”, handed over the pizzo without resistance. But when some tried to reply that they had agreed to only two annual installments (at Christmas and Ferragosto), the answer was dry: “No, there are three, the Easter one is missing”.
The DDA operation
Investigators photographed and intercepted suspected members of the 167 clan while they were collecting the protection money, also reconstructing the division of the money and the system to avoid seizures: part of the proceeds was entrusted to a man, now accused of aggravated receiving stolen goods to facilitate the organization.
They end up in handcuffs:
Savior Compass
Anthony Lentino
Anthony Good
Charles Alborino
Raffaele Caiazza
Among them, two are said to be directly linked to the clan.
The cemetery case
The investigations also brought to light an extortion to the detriment of a building contractor involved in the construction of cells and niches in the consortium cemetery of Casoria, Arzano and Casavatore.
The appeal of Sos Impresa
The association for legality expressed "applause and gratitude" to the DDA and the police forces: “The reporting of entrepreneurs is crucial to defeating the Camorra. Only in this way can we free the territory from these parasites”.
