Caserta – He was wearing the jacket of a well-known food delivery company so as not to arouse suspicion, but in reality it was a pusher.
A 37-year-old Gambian man was arrested by the Carabinieri of the Caserta Company for possession of narcotics for the purpose of dealing.
The fake rider was spotted yesterday afternoon, around 16.30:XNUMX p.m., while he was suspiciously wandering around the Rotonda di San Nicola la Strada, on Viale Carlo III. The military personnel of the Operations and Radiomobile Unit observed him as he repeatedly bent over a hedge to pick up objects that he then hid in his jacket. The area is known as a drug dealing square.
When asked for identification, the man reacted violently and attempted to escape. He was stopped shortly after and found in possession of 18 sticks of hashish, doses of marijuana and 130 euros in cash, presumably the proceeds of the illicit activity. The drugs, enough for over 300 doses, were seized.
The 37-year-old, already known to the police and without a fixed abode in Italy but legally resident in the territory, is now in custody in the Carabinieri's holding cells, awaiting the direct trial.
