At Coverciano, during the press conference to present the qualifying match for the 2026 World Cup, Giovanni Di Lorenzo, defender of Napoli and the Italian national team, had his say without hesitation on the Italian coach: “I never had any doubts that Conte would stay at Napoli.”

Di Lorenzo also spoke about the crucial importance of achieving qualification for the third consecutive time: “We can’t afford to miss the World Cup, it would be incredible after what we’ve done so far.” The defender did not hide his satisfaction for the recent successes with Napoli: “We have won two championships, but this last one was special, a triumph born from hard work, suffering and tenacity, an extraordinary result considering the previous season too.”
Finally, a thought on teammates and opponents: “We are sorry for our friends at Inter, but we are happy for Gigio Donnarumma, arrived with great enthusiasm. They have Haaland, we have the best goalkeeper in the world.” A clear sign of confidence and ambition in view of future challenges, both with Napoli and with the Italian national team.
