UAn unprecedented heat wave is hitting Italy, with temperatures rising sharply. Today and tomorrow, Naples is under orange alert, while for tomorrow, Thursday 27 June, the Ministry of Health reports an escalation.
In fact, 13 cities will reach the red dot, more than double the six today. Among the cities most affected by level 3, which indicates emergency conditions with health risks even for healthy people, we find Ancona, Bologna, Bolzano, Brescia, Campobasso, Florence, Frosinone, Milan, Perugia, Rome, Turin, Venice and Verona.
Naples is among the 10 cities with an orange stamp
Ten cities, instead, will be marked by the orange stamp: Cagliari, Catania, Latina, Naples, Palermo, Pescara, Reggio Calabria, Rieti, Trieste and Viterbo. Only four locations – Bari, Civitavecchia, Genoa and Messina – have a yellow dot, indicating a moderate risk.
According to the Ministry of Health, Level 3 indicates a heat wave that can have negative effects not only on the elderly, young children and people with chronic conditions, but also on healthy and active individuals. Experts warn that as high temperatures continue, health risks increase significantly.
