During the night, a heavy vehicle overturned on the A1 Rome-Naples, at km 660, between Cassino and Pontecorvo, in the direction of Rome. The accident, which occurred for reasons still under investigation, caused serious traffic disruption, with queues of up to 4 kilometers.

The rescue operations and the removal of the vehicle continued until 7 this morning, when Highways for Italy has announced the restoration of normal circulation on all lanes. Despite the complete reopening, traffic remains congested, with queues progressively decreasing.
No serious injuries
Fortunately, the accident – of an autonomous nature, without the involvement of other vehicles – did not cause serious injuries. The dynamics of the incident are being examined by the competent authorities.
