A tragedy averted by a few moments. This morning, shortly before 7, in the Museo station of the Naples metro line 1, a woman with evident mental problems threw herself onto the tracks as the train passed, with the intent of taking her own life.
Only the quick reflexes and coolness of the driver avoided the fatal impact: the train managed to brake in time, saving her just a few centimeters from death. The sudden braking caused moments of tension and the fall of some passengers inside the train, but fortunately no one suffered serious injuries.
The woman was immediately rescued and taken to the hospital, where she was found to have only minor bruises. The train, after the necessary checks, left shortly after and the entire service resumed regular circulation without further delays. A desperate gesture, fortunately not resulting in tragedy, thanks to the promptness and composure of those at the controls of the vehicle.
