The City of Naples is adopting strict measures to contain the disruption caused by nightlife, imposing bans on alcohol takeaways and strict closing times for nightclubs. The new ordinances, effective from June to October 2026, provide fines of up to €20 for violators.

Naples Takes Action Against Nightlife Chaos: Bans and Hefty Fines for Nighttime Noise
Naples is preparing for a decisive crackdown to address the problem of chaos associated with nightlife . Mayor Gaetano Manfredi has signed two ordinances that will take effect from June 1 to October 1, 2026, aimed at reducing noise pollution and crowding in the city's busiest areas.
The measures primarily concern a ban on takeaway alcoholic beverages from 10:30 PM to 6 AM the following morning, and mandatory closing times for bars and restaurants, set at 1 AM from Sunday to Thursday and 2 AM on weekends. Furthermore, bars and restaurants will not be able to reopen before 6 AM.
These restrictions affect areas such as Via Cisterna dell'Olio, Piazza del Gesù Nuovo, and the Baretti di Chiaia, where ARPAC detected noise levels exceeding the permitted limits at night. Penalties for those who do not comply are severe, with fines ranging from €2.000 to €20.000 and, in the case of repeated violations, temporary suspension of business or even revocation of the license.
The initiative also stems from legal challenges brought by residents to protect the quality of life in the affected areas, marking a significant shift in the management of the city's nightlife.
