Napoli announces consensual termination with Conte

NAPLES – Antonio Conte's tenure as Napoli coach has come to a surprise end, after just two seasons and a mere thirteen months since his historic Scudetto victory. The club announced today, Thursday, June 4, the mutual and early termination of the contract between the coach and his staff.

"SSC Napoli announces that it has amicably terminated its employment relationships with coach Antonio Conte and his staff ahead of their natural expiration," reads the official statement released this morning.

Conte, who arrived at Napoli in the summer of 2024, won two trophies in two years: the fourth Scudetto in Napoli's history, won on May 23, 2025, and the Italian Super Cup on December 22 of the same year. These results seemed to have strengthened his relationship with the club, but they didn't prevent an early separation.

The club nevertheless wanted to emphasize its appreciation for the work done: "Our thanks to the coach and his staff for their excellent work, and our best wishes for the future and for the upcoming professional challenges they decide to take on. Thank you, mister!"

No indication, for now, of the reasons for the split or the name of his successor. The feeling is that the departure was made over weeks of shared reflection, after completing the natural cycle with the tricolor on his chest. Now Napoli will restart with a new technical project, while Conte prepares to await further calls from the bench of a top club.
