Drugs and cell phones seized near Salerno prison

Salerno – A drone flying near the Fuorni prison triggered the alarm and led to the seizure of drugs and cell phones. The incident occurred yesterday evening, when a report indicated the small aircraft's presence in a sensitive area of the prison.
According to the reconstruction, the drone was seen flying over the area and then landing near the construction site of the new hospital. The Salerno Police Headquarters operations room intervened immediately, ordering targeted checks to determine the device's origin and activity.
A patrol car was dispatched to the scene. During their search, officers spotted a green wire crossing the road near a school. Following it for several meters, they reached a tree where a clear plastic container was caught.
Three cell phones, 248 grams of hashish, and 7,8 grams of cocaine were found inside the package. The material was immediately seized. Investigations are underway to identify those responsible and determine whether the drone was used to supply inmates within the prison.
