Napoli arrested two young men after the Champions League match: smoke bombs hidden and a hammer under their saddles.

Naples – Two fans were arrested overnight after the Napoli-Arsenal match. An 18-year-old and a 23-year-old were arrested in Piazza Nicola Amore for possession of fireworks at a sporting event. They were also charged with possession of weapons or offensive objects.

The check was triggered during public order operations organized by the Police Headquarters around the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium. As Arsenal fans were leaving, the Flying Squad's Hawks noticed the two young men on a scooter: they were wearing dark clothing and were masked.

The arrest and search followed. Officers found industrial smoke bombs in their clothing. A hammer was found under the vehicle's seat. They were arrested for this reason. The operation was part of the security measures activated for the Champions League match, which ended 0-1 at the Maradona stadium with a goal from Martin Ødegaard. There are currently no further details on the identities of the two or any possible connection to organized groups.
