Naples Services: The dispute over precarious employment takes to the streets.

Naples – Temporary workers in the Napoli Servizi supply chain are protesting. On Tuesday, September 15, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., a demonstration is planned in front of Palazzo San Giacomo, the city hall, to bring to the administration's attention the critical issues of an employment model based on temporary contracts, reduced part-time work, and hourly contracts in essential city services.

The mobilization is promoted by FLAICA-CUB and SGB and concerns those who work in the cleaning, sanitization, maintenance, and multi-service sectors connected to the company owned by the Municipality.

The issue of administration: from temporary tool to stable practice

At the heart of the dispute is the systematic use of temporary employment agencies by Napoli Servizi, a company controlled by the Municipality. The union document cites, among others, Humana SpA, which provides workers employed in cleaning, maintenance, and even some cemetery services.

According to the unions, what should have been an exceptional and temporary tool has turned into a structural method of personnel management, with workers employed for years in continuous jobs with no prospect of permanent employment.

Requests: internalization, full-time and public competitions

The trade unions are calling on the municipal administration to open a concrete path towards:
Internalization of workers currently on temporary contracts
Transforming part-time into full-time
New hires to fill structural positions
Announcement of public competitions announced several times by the Municipality

Added to this is the request to guarantee the minimum wage set by the Campania Region, in line with the regional policies against poor work.

A dispute with political implications: "Consistency with the minimum wage policy"

The protest isn't just about contractual conditions, but also affects the political coherence of the government that governs the city. Naples is part of a majority that, at the regional level, has stated among its objectives the fight against poor work and the guarantee of more decent wages.

For unions and workers, these principles cannot remain confined to declarations: they must translate into concrete choices, even in the participating companies and services that depend directly or indirectly on the Municipality.
September 15: "Enough precariousness, internalization now"

The September 15 demonstration therefore aims to open a discussion not only on current conditions, but also on the work model that Naples intends to build within its public services.

The slogan that sums up the requests is clear:
"Enough precariousness. Immediate internalization. Wages and dignity for those who work."
