In Naples, on Tuesday, September 8, the Feast of Our Lady of Piedigrotta begins with an important Eucharistic celebration presided over by Archbishop Don Mimmo Battaglia.
The event will take place at 7:00 PM in the Basilica Sanctuary Parish of Santa Maria di Piedigrotta, located in Piedigrotta Square, and will be concelebrated by the priests of the city's 4th Deanery. This year's theme is "Marian Apparitions."
The day will be divided into two further liturgical moments: a Mass will be celebrated at 9 am, while at 12 pm the Supplication to the Madonna will be recited, followed by Holy Mass led by Don Franco Bergamin, Abbot Emeritus of the Canons Regular of the Lateran.
The celebration presided over by Cardinal Battaglia marks the beginning of the central phase of the festival, which will continue until September 13 with other significant initiatives, including the traditional Serenade to the Madonna scheduled for September 10 and the final celebrations dedicated to the Holy Name of Mary.
