On September 9th, the first Manfred Tschabitscher Memorial will take place in Naples, a scientific event organized in memory of the renowned Viennese anatomist who passed away last year. The event will be held at the Anatomy Museum, directed by Professor Michele Papa, and represents an important opportunity to discuss and pay homage to the work of Tschabitscher, renowned for his studies of the nervous system.

The memorial is promoted by a broad collaboration between ASL Napoli1centro, Federico II University, Luigi Vanvitelli University, and the University of Salerno, with Professors Paolo Cappabianca, Giuseppe Catapano, and Luigi Maria Cavallo as chairmen. Honorary presidents include Professors Franco Tomasello and Renato Galzio. The course will be directed by Professors Matteo de Notaris and Sabino Luzzi.

Throughout the day, Italian and international neurosurgeons will participate in the scientific program, sharing experiences and insights into the connection between anatomy and neurosurgery. Special emphasis will be placed on anatomical drawing, recognized as a fundamental tool for simplifying and teaching complex anatomical scenarios.

In the afternoon, Peter Lawrence, world-renowned neuroanatomy illustrator, will create a live work. Additionally, an exhibition will open, showcasing numerous works submitted from a competition dedicated to anatomical drawings, enriched by the personal collection of Dr. Vinicio Valente, neurosurgeon and artist. The works will be displayed in the large hall in front of the Aula Magna of the Vanvitelli University Institute of Anatomy, where the event will take place.
