A serious traffic accident involved an 82-year-old pedestrian in Aversa, struck while crossing the crosswalk at the intersection of Via Raffaello and Via Botticelli. The man, treated by emergency personnel, was first transported to Aversa Hospital and then transferred to San Giovanni Bosco Hospital in Naples, where his condition is not life-threatening.
Law enforcement officers, who responded to the scene of the accident, have begun an investigation to reconstruct the circumstances of the event. The driver of the vehicle, a 49-year-old man, has been charged with negligent assault, while his vehicle has been seized and turned over to the judicial authorities.
The investigations included verifying the validity of the driving licence and the vehicle's insurance coverage. The case is currently in the preliminary investigation phase, and the 49-year-old is considered innocent pending a final verdict.
