Over the weekend, checks were carried out by law enforcement and local police forces in the metropolitan area of Naples to contain the Covid-19 epidemiological emergency.
In total, 12.886 people were checked, of which 362 were fined and 50 reported, 696 commercial establishments were checked, of which 14 were fined and 7 were temporarily closed.
A total of 4283 personnel were employed in the control services. In particular, the agents of the Secondigliano Police Station and the Local Police carried out an extraordinary service of territorial control in the Berlingieri district and in Piazza Giuseppe Di Vittorio, during which 35 people were identified, of which 22 with police records, 25 vehicles were checked, of which 13 were subject to administrative seizure and 28 violations of the highway code were contested.
The agents of the San Ferdinando Police Station and the military of the Carabinieri and the Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza, with the support of the crews of the Campania crime prevention department, as part of the territorial control services aimed at applying the anti-covid-19 regulations in the "baretti" area, via Caracciolo and via Partenope, identified 159 people, sanctioning 2 of them for failure to comply with the anti-covid-19 measures, as they were found outside their homes without valid reason, checked 27 vehicles and contested 2 violations of the highway code; in via Caracciolo 2 commercial establishments were sanctioned for occupation of public land.
In via dei Mille, the officers of the general prevention office, on the orders of the operations center, intervened following a report of loud noises and music coming from a house where they surprised 9 people, Neapolitans between the ages of 38 and 53, all without masks, who were consuming food and drinks, fining them for failure to comply with the anti-covid-19 measures.
In Corso Garibaldi, the Carabinieri surprised and fined 17 young people between the ages of 18 and 20, who were celebrating a birthday in a B&B room. In the San Carlo all'Arena district, during control services carried out by the Carabinieri with the support of the personnel of the 10 Rgt. Campania, 21 administrative sanctions were imposed for a total amount of €8.400,00 for failure to comply with anti-covid regulations, 3 commercial establishments were checked, with sanctions imposed for a total amount of €25.328, 24 vehicles were checked and 10 violations of the Highway Code were contested. As regards the checks carried out in the municipalities of the province, in the municipality of Ercolano, we report the closure for 5 days of a bar in Via Panoramica, following a check by the Carabinieri who found customers inside intent on consuming while sitting at the tables, all fined.
During inter-force checks carried out by the personnel of the Torre del Greco police station, the military of the provincial command of the Guardia di Finanza and personnel of the local police in the city center of Torre del Greco, 213 people were identified, of which 3 were fined for failure to comply with the anti-covid-19 measures because they were found outside their municipality of residence without valid reason, the owners of two bars and 6 customers caught consuming drinks inside were fined, with the consequent closure of the premises ordered for 5 days.
In the municipality of Boscoreale and in the neighboring municipalities, the Carabinieri military carried out checks on 126 people, of which 34 with criminal records and 61 vehicles, with 11 sanctions to the Highway Code, also sanctioning 12 people for violations of anti-contagion regulations, for unmotivated travel between municipalities and failure to use personal protective equipment. Finally, in the municipality of Arzano, the military of the Casoria Carabinieri company, as part of a high-impact service, together with the personnel of the companies of the Castello di Cisterna Carabinieri group and the 10th Campania Regiment, checked 140 people and 110 vehicles, of which 2 were seized and 10 fined for a total amount of 10 thousand euros.
