Environmental redevelopment works in Torre Annunziata included in the “Programme of interventions for the mitigation of hydraulic risk of regional interest relating to the Sarno river basin”.
NYesterday morning, Wednesday 21 April, a conference call was held by the Vice President and Councillor for the Environment of the Campania Region, Fulvio Bonavitacola.
The remote meeting was attended by Bonavitacola himself; regional councilor Mario Casillo; the mayor of Torre Annunziata Vincenzo Ascione, with the support of his staff composed of the architect Rosanna Cirillo, the lawyer Ciro Manfredonia and the surveyor Domenico Scarpa; the Director of UOD 05 "Environmental remediation of the Sarno river basin", eng. Roberto Vacca; and the designers of lot 1 of the Proger Spa grouping Framework Agreement.
“During the meeting – explains Mayor Ascione – the results of the hydrological-hydraulic modelling relating to lot 1 (sub-basin between the Cicalesi basin and the natural mouth of the Sarno) were preliminarily examined, which confirmed the possibility of creating the second mouth of the Sarno alongside the current natural mouth, as already foreseen in the preliminary Conference of Services, which concluded with a positive outcome on 1 August 2019.
We then moved on to examine, specifically, the progress of the activities, with particular reference to the environmental redevelopment of the Torre Annunziata coastline, in the stretch between the port and the natural mouth of the Sarno.
Furthermore, the possibility of carrying out first the urgent preliminary interventions for the final design called “Phase I” (coastal strip), concerning the removal of waste dumped in the area subject to intervention and available to the Municipal Administration (area subject to seizure after consultation with the competent Bodies and authorization from the competent Judiciary) will be assessed. This is also to allow the designers to have free access to the areas and carry out the related preliminary investigations and surveys of the project.
At the end of the discussion - concludes the mayor - it was decided to start a permanent technical table between the Campania Region, technicians of the Municipality of Torre Annunziata and designers of lot 1 of the Framework Agreement, aimed at the rapid definition of the main objectives to be pursued with the definitive project, to be submitted for examination to the decision-making Conference of Services”.
