Di Caterino Murder, Appeal Trial for 14-Year-Old Killer
Aversa. The second degree trial, currently underway before the minor section of the Court of Appeal of Naples, for the death of Emanuele Di Caterino will be defined tomorrow, the 14-year-old from San Cipriano killed on April 2013, 16 in Aversa by a slightly older minor, the 24-year-old from San Marcellino Agostino Veneziano (now XNUMX), who stabbed him with a dagger, mortally wounding him in the heart.

The alleged murderer was first sentenced in January 2014 by the Naples Juvenile Court to 15 years in prison, but the sentence was overturned by the judges of the Court of Appeal because it was pronounced by a single judge, while in their opinion it should have been a panel of judges.

The first-degree trial thus had to start over again; the new and “valid” sentence, which arrived in March 2020, seven years after the fact, significantly reduced Veneziano’s sentence, which was sentenced to 8 years and four months.
