The four minors who attacked and robbed a delivery man in Calata Capodichino in Naples during the lockdown last January remain in prison.
The images, captured on a cell phone and shared online, went viral. The four were arrested within a week, and after six months of detention, their lawyers had recently requested their release and probation. But Judge Paola Brunese of the Naples Juvenile Court rejected the request with strong, controversial reasons.

The violent attack was carried out by four minors and two other adults who savagely beat the man who attempted to resist. The following week they were identified and arrested . The four minors were locked up in juvenile detention facilities , and the two adults in Poggioreale prison in Naples.
“THEY NEVER REPENT”
The public prosecutor, Nicola Ciccarelli, had already expressed a negative opinion. "They never reformed and used unprecedented violence," he said. Defense lawyers Luca Mottola, Caterina Sanfilippo, Raffaele Ottieri, and Carlo Ercolino disagreed . They submitted positive reports from the prison inmates.

"The boys take writing, theater, and soccer classes; they're committed ," they say. They had requested probation in a community setting, but after three hours of discussion, the decision was denied. Now the trial will take place, with the abbreviated procedure , and for now the four will remain in prison.
