Swill be the French director Brizé to inaugurate the twenty-second edition of the Naples Film Festival introducing on Wednesday 22nd September, at 20,30pm, the screening of his “Another World” in the Dumas Room of theFrench Institute of Naples, for an evening organized in collaboration with “Venice in Naples - extended cinema".
Presented in Competition at the 2021 Venice Film Festival, the film tells the story of a business executive, Philippe Lemesle (Vincent Lindon), who, due to his job and the strong pressures it exerts on his private life, is on the verge of separating from his wife. In this delicate situation, he will have to choose which direction his life will take from now on.
The festival, with the artistic direction of Mario Violini in collaboration with Giuseppe Borrone, sees twenty works in competition in the section ScreenNaples Courts, created by young authors from Campania or created in the region.
Grouped in groups of 5, they will be screened from 16,30pm in the Sala Dumas of the French Institute of Naples from Wednesday to Saturday (entrance €5):

The jury, composed of the journalist Antonio Fiore, the filmmaker Maria Di Razza and the director Francesco Prisco, will award the Vesuvius Award to the director of the best short film and a plaque for the best male and female performance.
The second day of the Naples Film Festival will feature the preview screening of the 2021 Cannes Palme d'Or “Titanium”, written and directed by Julia ducournau, a film that will be in Italian theaters from October 1st.
In collaboration with the Cineteca di Bologna, Friday September 24 at 20,30 pm, the restored 4K version of the masterpiece – manifesto of the New wave, "About Souffle"of Jean-Luc Godard, with the regret Jean-Paul Belmondo e Jean Seberg. Completing the international previews, the Argentine film “Piazzolla, the revolution of tango", from Daniel Rosenfeld (September 25th at 20,30 pm) and “Mother", from Rodrigo Sorogoyen, Best Actress Award at the 2019 Venice Film Festival (September 23, 18,30:XNUMX pm).
Among the most anticipated guests Jerzy skolimowski, to which a retrospective of three films is dedicated: “The Virgin”, Golden Bear in Berlin in 1967 (September 25, 14,30 pm), “Essential Killing” (September 26th at 16,30 pm) and the unreleased “11 minutes” (September 25, 18,30:25 p.m.). The great Polish director will talk about his idea of cinema, in a meeting with the Neapolitan public scheduled for Saturday, September 11,30, at XNUMX:XNUMX a.m.
The closing event at the end of the award ceremony for the winners of the Competition will always be a French film preview, “Under the stars of Paris", from Claus Drexel and Catherine Frot which tells of an indelible encounter between a homeless woman and a non-EU child who got lost in the streets of Paris (September 26, 18,30 pm), and the screening of the documentary “Spin Time – How hard is democracy?” presented by the author Sabina Guzzanti (September 26, 20,30:XNUMX p.m.) about an occupied building that has been transformed into an incredible social and cultural experiment. Among other screenings scheduled, in collaboration with the Comicon, International Festival of Pop Culture, the film “Metamoebius” by Damian Pettigrew (September 22), the absolute preview of the documentary “Living Earth” directed by Nilo Sciarrone (September 24th at 18,30 pm), a story on the road with Luigi Libra, around Campania, in search of inspiration for the new album of the same name, and the animated film “Josep” created by the French designer and director Aurel, dedicated to the memory of Josep Bartoli, who fled Spain during the Franco era (September 25 at 10 am – screening reserved for schools).
