Gricignano. The appointment is for this afternoon, Friday 8 October, at 15 pm, in front of Progest, in the Asi “Aversa Nord” industrial area, in via della Stazione, where the citizens of Gricignano and the surrounding towns are invited to participate en masse to say “No” to the biodigester that “Ambyenta Campania”, of which Progest is a partner, intends to build, and to the “rubbish businessmen”.
A few hours after the march, the #NoBiodigestore committee, promoter of the initiative, makes an appeal to the inhabitants of the territory: "From the first readings of the biodigester project, we were devastated by the feeling of repulsion and apprehension regarding the great danger that our territory and all of us were running. Since then, a single objective has kept us united: "do something concrete to stop the monster that was approaching".
We went from moments of disbelief regarding a business initiative that from the very beginning presented dark sides, to moments of euphoria, when the project received blows from some agency or we came across laws, scientific studies and flaws in the project itself that could stop this infernal machine. There were also moments of despair when reading some positive preventive opinion or when grasping tangible signs of the political will to endorse this insane project».
"But one thing - the committee emphasizes - we have never lacked: the determination, the will and the courage to continue in our commitment as citizens to defend the most important asset "health". Now we are in the final stages, on October 12 the conferences of services will begin in the region where we will have the honor and the burden of bringing the voice of the citizens. Today is a decisive day, in which the people of Gricignano and the neighboring towns who unite to give a strong and clear message to politicians, to the officials called to evaluate the project, and to the entrepreneurs of the sector, that the people are not willing to die in the name of vested interests.
