In Campania From January to August 2021, 81 reports of fatal accidents in the workplace were filed to Inail regional.
A figure that records an increase compared to the same period in 2020 when reports of deaths at work were 71. The numbers were provided on the occasion of the third edition of the HSE Symposium - Health, Safety and Environment Symposium which takes place today and tomorrow in NAPLES. As regards reports of accidents, in Campania in the first nine months of 2021 there were 12343 and the province that recorded the highest figure is NAPLES with 6144 followed by Salerno with 3236 and Caserta with 1482.
"It is also a particular moment for the Campania region with the opening of many construction sites and the resumption of many activities that are unfortunately leading to very bad data regarding accidents and fatal accidents - said Adele Pomponio, deputy regional director of Inail Campania - We must pay attention to everything that is prevention and ensure that there is substantial and not just formal training for workers, we must talk about a culture of safety which is the first weapon to be put in the field".
With respect to the decree law passed in recent days by the Government, Pomponio underlined that "in addition to stringent and strong legislation, there must be awareness of the need to work safely because working safely means respecting the rules but above all respecting the dignity of the worker".
