Ua seizure of assets worth millions against the company that currently manages the integrated water service in several municipalities under the jurisdiction of Ato 1 Campania.
The investigating judge of Benevento ordered it as part of an investigation by the Sannio Prosecutor's Office. Seals on money, movable and immovable assets of Gesesa for a total of 78.210.529 euros. The seizure was ordered for crimes committed in Benevento in the years 2017, 2018, 2019, for not having adopted and efficiently implemented organizational and management models suitable for preventing the crimes contested in the investigation relating to the serious pollution of the Calore and Sabato rivers which on May 15 of last year had already led to the preventive seizure of 12 purification plants managed by the same company and the reporting of 33 people.
According to investigators, there is a widespread and massive presence of discharges directly from the sewers of the municipalities of Benevento and the province into Calore and Sabato due, in some cases, to the absence of purifiers, with the release of polluting wastewater directly into the waterways, in others to the incorrect functioning of the existing purifiers.
