Emergency medical transport, from Naples to Genoa, with an Air Force Falcon 900 aircraft for a newborn baby of only 31 days, in imminent danger of life.
The Air Force has announced it. The life-saving flight, requested by the Prefecture of Naples, was immediately arranged and coordinated by the Situation Room of the Command of the Air Squad, the operations room of the Air Force.
The Falcon 900 of the 31st Wing, which took off from Ciampino military airport late this morning, landed at Genoa airport where a medical team from the “G. Gaslini” pediatric hospital and the medical equipment necessary for ECMO (Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation) were embarked – a procedure that the little patient needed for transportation.
The aircraft left the Ligurian airport shortly after 14:XNUMX pm bound for Capodichino airport where it took on board the little patient from the Santobono Pausilipon hospital in Naples.
The aircraft took off from the Campania airport and arrived at Genoa airport at around 18:40, where the newborn was transferred by ambulance to the “G. Gaslini” pediatric hospital. The military aircraft, returned to Ciampino airport, and resumed its operational readiness service.
