Whirlpool Naples, the unions: “Mise and Region bring industrialists to the table”. Call coming in the next few days
The Ministry of Economic Development has reported to Fim, Fiom and Uilm that the acquisition of the Whirlpool plant in Naples by the consortium has not been completed, since in addition to the urban and environmental problems, a structural criticality has also been found. The unions say this in a joint note.
"Faced with yet another obstacle to completing the acquisition of the site – they say – we ask for a decisive intervention by the Government and local institutions so that they finally let us know the entrepreneurs involved, starting with Adler who is the leader of the consortium, and their industrial plans. We need to find out if the problems concern only the building or if what is missing is a solid industrial project, which would be much more serious.
The Mise has committed to sending us a date for the meeting within the next two days. We ask that the Campania Region and the Municipality of Naples be fully involved in that meeting and that all the institutions be present with the most authoritative figures possible. Above all, the Government and the Region must act immediately to bring the investors to the table, so that they can finally illustrate their plans to us with the relative implementation times”.
