Vietri sul Mare. The artistic ceramic flower vases at the entrance to the town centre of Vietri sul Mare, a town in the Salerno area famous for this production, were shattered by two people last night. A dozen flower pots belonging to commercial businesses in Corso Umberto I and twenty glazed ceramic flower pots in Via De Marinis were destroyed.
During the raid, however, the two perpetrators, 33 and 37 years old, both with criminal records and already known to the police, were surprised by the Carabinieri who reported them for damaging street furniture. While the investigations by the military of the Arma continue, the mayor of Vietri sul Mare, Giovanni de Simone, announced that he would proceed with the complaint for damage to public property to have the Municipality compensated.
“These are acts that leave you speechless and that denote, for these individuals, the drama of serious social unease,” he says.
