Greek's tower. "What happened yesterday evening to two young people from our city community is shocking and unacceptable. The violent and premature death of a boy, a son of our territory, brutally taken away from the affection of his parents and his family, and the wounding of his friend, struck with unprecedented brutality, leaves each of us shocked, angry and indignant."
This was stated by Giovanni Palomba, mayor of Torre del Greco, on the death of an 18-year-old from Torre del Greco who was stabbed during an argument that arose over trivial reasons with other young people in the Leopardi area.
"I am deeply saddened, as a father and as a representative of the institutions. On behalf of the entire city - adds Palomba - I express the strongest condemnation of actions of this nature and of any form of violence, especially youth violence, which cannot find any foundation and any justification, as well as deep closeness to the families affected by this absurd event.
It is unimaginable that an innocent person had to pay with his own life for the pleasure and tranquility of a moment of leisure in company. It is therefore more necessary than ever to reflect seriously and carefully on the education of our young people and above all on the attitudes of sincere social discomfort that continually manifest themselves, such that it starts in concert with all the positive and proactive forces of our city. I am fully confident in the ongoing work of the investigators”, concludes Palomba
