Camorra: a fugitive for 8 years who had become a famous chefs on the French Riviera. Antonio Cuozzo Nasti arrested. Twelfth absconding captured by the Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Naples in just under 8 months.
At first light of day the Carabinieri of the Company of Giugliano, within the framework of the European project “@ON” curated by DAY and in collaboration with the International Police Cooperation Service and the French National Police, they tracked down and arrested the fugitive Antonio Cuozzo Nasti, 56 years old from Giugliano in Campania.
The man, considered adjacent to the “Mallardo” clan, operating in the Giugliano area and part of the "Secondigliano alliance”, had been sentenced to a term of 16 years in prison for the crimes of robbery, receiving stolen goods and illegal possession of weapons, having been untraceable since 2014.
Cuozzo Nasti was located in a small town on the French Riviera not far from Cannes where he had rebuilt a new life and, under false name, had become a famous chef in a luxury hotel, renowned for its Italian cuisine.
The fugitive was captured in his French apartment where he lived alone and surrendered without resistance. He is now awaiting trial. extradition to Italy.
He is the twelfth fugitive from August 2021 to today that the Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Naples have arrested.
