In the same territory, Edison is already present with another 70 MW wind farm and, following this acquisition, it gives life to one of the largest wind farms in Italy with a total power of 136 MW. The new wind farm satisfies the energy needs of 96.000 families and avoids the emission into the atmosphere of approximately 90.000 tons of CO2 per year.
With this operation, Edison further consolidates its commitment to the development of green generation to accompany the country in the challenge of energy transition and in achieving decarbonization objectives. The Bisaccia wind farm consists of 22 Vestas-type wind generators of 3 MW each and is capable of producing an average of 100 MWh of electricity per year.
This plant joins the other 10 plants that Edison has in Campania, for a total capacity of approximately 300 MW. The consolidated presence of the company in the renewable sector in Campania will allow for significant operational synergies related to the management and maintenance of production sites.
