He contacted a 66-year-old woman by phone, making her believe that her grandson had a large debt with him. 5 thousand euros to be repaid immediately because he could not wait any longer. The grandmother had nothing but a thousand euros in cash.
Agreement reached and money in his pocket. CL, a 21-year-old from Pallonetto already known to the police, thought he had gotten away with it, too bad for him that under his house there were Carabinieri from the Forio station waiting for him and when he saw them in front of him he could do nothing but surrender.
We are in Ischia and the victim, in fact, after having spoken with the pseudo-creditor, contacted his daughter. He could not believe that his nephew had a debt with someone mostly so huge and called the boy's mother.
It was all false and the victim's daughter immediately asked the Carabinieri for help, telling them what was happening. They ran to the house, stationed themselves and waited for the boy who, once he had taken the agreed money, wanted to leave but was stopped. Now the young man is awaiting trial and will have to answer for the crimes of aggravated fraud and impersonation while the money was returned to the victim.
