Torre Annunziata. Lack of authorization for atmospheric emissions: a shipyard in the Naples area has been seized. It happened in Torre Annunziata, where the Carabinieri of the environmental protection group of Naples, together with the Noe of Naples and Salerno, executed a preventive seizure decree.
The investigations, conducted by the Noe of Naples with the technical collaboration of Arpac and the coordination of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Torre Annunziata, have allowed to ascertain that the activity of the Fervit srl shipyard would have been carried out in the absence of the authorization title for emissions into the atmosphere.
The preventive seizure, according to what was ascertained by the investigating judge of Torre Annunziata, was necessary to avoid further compromising the surrounding environment. During the inspection, conducted by the Carabinieri of the Noe of Naples, there were "present and visible - as explained in a note by the public prosecutor of Torre Annunziata, Nunzio Fragliasso - dusts that made the air difficult to breathe in the work environment, in addition to a series of tools and products from which one could deduce the exercise of the aforementioned shipbuilding activity.
Furthermore, in the uncovered area pertaining to the shed, the presence of some boats and other equipment was found, such as to lead to the belief that the area was used for the maintenance and storage of boats". The measure is part of the broader and more complex investigative activity conducted by the Carabinieri aimed at ascertaining and removing the causes of the pollution of the Sarno river.
