Exodus, Autostrade and Polstrada together to spread safe driving. Information for travellers in Service Areas.
Autostrade per l'Italia and Polizia di Stato are working together to raise awareness among travellers about the risks involved in being careless while driving. Starting tomorrow, with the start of the summer exodus, and during all weekends of the month, the Highway Patrol, Aspi staff and Anpas volunteers will interact with travellers parked at some of the main Service Areas to provide a series of caring services: from healthcare assistance in collaboration with Anpas (Associazione Nazionale Pubbliche Assistenze), which will provide an ambulance with volunteers on board for any requests for assistance, to information on road conditions in real time.
“There will also be games and entertainment for the little ones and moments of road education on driving behavior, such as: the use of seat belts, compliance with speed limits or safety distance” – explains a note -.
Travelers will also be able to try to travel a route wearing special visors, which simulate the condition of someone who drives after taking drugs or alcohol. The initiative, which will accompany users in transit during the summer holidays, is the result of the collaboration between Autostrade per l'Italia and the State Police, as well as the awareness campaign that sees the participation of the Paralympic champion, Ambra Sabatini.
The tour of the caravan on driving safety includes a total of 4 stops, located at the busiest points of the network, both on the weekends of the exodus – (Secchia Ovest on the A1 south, Modena on 5 and 6 August, and Prenestina Ovest on the A1 south, Magliano Sabina on 12 and 13 August) – and of the counter-exodus (Casilina Est on the A1 north, Pontecorvo on 20 and 21 August, and Conero Est on the A14 north, Ancona on 27 and 28 August), always with opening hours from 10:00 to 18:00.
