Vico Equense. The red berets of the Carabinieri of the Puglia helicopter-borne hunters squadron continue to support their colleagues from the provincial command stations of Naples, as part of Operation Green Life.
This time we are in the municipality of Vico Equense, not far from the Lattari Mountains but in the Monte Faito area. The military of the local station took advantage of the hunters' ability to adapt to wooded areas to comb the most inhospitable places in the territory.
And so, in a deep, hidden underground, they found a Benelli rifle 12 gauge, stolen. The weapon also contained 28 single-ball cartridges. In a plot of land belonging to a 59-year-old local man, they then found an improvised explosive device and some 12 and 22 gauge bullets. The man was reported.
The bomb, capable of destroying a car, was neutralized on site by the Carabinieri of the anti-sabotage bomb squad of the Naples operational unit. The checks will continue in the coming days
