Following a refueling without paying for it on the Naples ring road, the driver of a Renault Megane suddenly fled the scene.
Thanks to the video surveillance images of the service area, the investigators of the Fuorigrotta Highway Police Subsection, following checks carried out using the Databases used by the State Police, have ascertained that the vehicle in question is registered to a Romanian citizen.
Carrying out further cross-checks at the PRA and the Inter-Force Investigation System, it also emerged that the Romanian citizen is the owner of 82 vehicles, all in circulation and without the required RCA insurance coverage, and that the same are in use by various people.
Similarly, it was found that, from a search at the Chamber of Commerce, the man was the owner of an individual business dedicated to the sale of used cars and motorcycles, which ceased in 2020, while from checks carried out at the Municipality of Villa Literno he is untraceable due to cancellation from the registry office since 2016.
In light of this, a tracking note was therefore inserted into the Investigation System, following which the man was stopped at a police checkpoint while driving a vehicle in the Maddaloni area.
He had a car sales business that closed in 2020
Invited to the Office and questioned for summary information, the fictitious ownership of the vehicles was verified, which were subsequently sold to his fellow countrymen, receiving in exchange the payment of the sale without formalizing the transfer. Furthermore, he did not want to provide the personal details of the owners of the vehicles.

For these illegal acts, the man, also in his capacity as the administrator of the company that has already ceased, was reported to the Judicial Authority for aiding and abetting for not wanting to indicate the personal details of the buyers and was sanctioned for violations of the Highway Code, for administrative sanctions for a total amount equal to €44.526,00, pending the official cancellation of the vehicles at the PRA.
Furthermore, the drivers of the vehicles themselves, at the time of a police check, will suffer the seizure of the vehicle for the purposes of confiscation and the withdrawal of the registration document.
Further investigations of a fiscal-administrative nature are underway.
