Tomorrow at Palazzo Reale two guided tours in the deposits and evening opening at 2 euros. The tour is led by art historians and restorers
Two extraordinary events at the Royal Palace of Naples tomorrow, Saturday 15 October, will offer visitors the opportunity to discover places that are exceptionally open and at unusual times.
Two guided tours are scheduled (reservation required) and are included in the ticket price, at 10.00 and 11,30 in the depots and in the restoration laboratory, normally closed to the public.
The visit, led by art historians and restorers, winds through the mezzanine floor, where in the 19th century the service rooms for the royal kitchens were located, still recognizable by the presence of the majolica tops and floors, shelves and pantries.
Among the works kept in the warehouses was also the collection of Queen Margherita of Savoy, which was transferred to Trani last week for an exhibition as part of the project “100 works return home”, curated by the Regional Museums Directorate, inaugurated on October 12. The collection was restored in 2004 for an exhibition at the Royal Palace and it was precisely on the occasion of this work that the laboratory was opened in which the restoration workers have been taking care of the museum's artistic heritage ever since.
On the same day, the Historic Apartment will remain open in the evening, from 20.00:23,00 pm to 22.00:2 pm (last admission at 2:XNUMX pm) at the symbolic price of XNUMX euros. The initiative “A King's Saturday” allows you to visit the Historic Apartment at a reduced cost of XNUMX euros, not bookable, but purchasable directly at Palazzo Reale, in Piazza del Plebiscito.
The initiative, part of the 2022 enhancement projects, started last October 1st and includes openings every two weeks. The next appointments are scheduled for October 29th, November 5th and 19th 2022.
