In Cetara 'Red Shoes' is staged to say no to violence against women
An important event to say “no” to gender violence. Once again, thanks to the support of Forum dei Giovani and Amici del Forum, the show Scarpette Rosse will close the Fall in Cetara program, on stage Friday, November 25, from 10 am, at the Sala Benincasa.
November 25th is the date universally recognized as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and, for the occasion, the Municipality of Cetara has chosen to have as its main interlocutor the students, as future citizens, wives, husbands, parents, inviting them to the show to raise awareness on the topic.
Knowledge and awareness of the problem, of the numbers of murders and violence – physical, verbal, economic, psychological – against women, remains a constantly growing social plague that cannot and should not be silenced.
And so, the children – from the fourth to the fifth grade of elementary school and the first, second and third grades of middle school – accompanied by their teachers, will attend the artistic performance by the Infinity Dance Studio company that will combine dance and acting, interaction with spectators and moments of discussion to be shared between the school desks, with dedicated insights.
“Even today, episodes of mistreatment against women continue to fill the pages of the news. This means that we must continually inform, train, educate and raise awareness, so that these acts do not happen again. – explains Cinzia Forcellino, councilor with responsibility for Culture, Education and the Right to Study, Equal Opportunities and Communication – The meeting will be the pretext to address the most delicate issues, inviting the new generations to reflect and dialogue and listening to them. It is our duty to do so. For this, I can count on the sensitivity shown by the mayor, Fortunato Della Monica, together with the councilor with responsibility for Entertainment, Daniele Luigi D'Elia, who always supports the right causes”.
The symbolic initiative will continue at the Torre Vicereale which, at sunset, will be illuminated in red, to accompany the evening event of Cinealici, in which red ribbons of solidarity will be distributed.
