At 19.15pm last Friday a 68 year old man arrived in his car at the Emergency Department of the 'Ruggi' hospital in Salerno complaining of sudden, severe pain in the shoulder.
The health workers at the triage assigned him a red code but, according to the testimonies of his relatives, he was only seen by the doctors at 3.30:XNUMX in the morning and the first tests were done. The man died while he was undergoing a brain CT scan. The victim's son, who was present at the hospital during the frantic hours, reported him to the authorities and called the police.
“We need to shed light on this case to verify whether there are specific responsibilities in the man's death. According to what was reported by relatives, eight hours of waiting for the first visits to a person hospitalized with a red code seems really too long. If the autopsy confirmed death by heart attack, we should immediately understand whether precious time was wasted that could have changed this tragic fate.
My condolences go to the family and I promise that we will follow the case until all the circumstances reported are clarified". These are the words of the deputy of Alleanza Verdi – Sinistra Francesco Emilio Borrelli.
