Only the devastation and nothing else remains of the “disappeared” soccer field in via Bachelet in Aversa.
The episode led to the complaint of three people, and it occurred on Tuesday, when some citizens reported the dismantling of the doors and the fence by men who at first were mistaken for workers, also because they had arrived on Via Bachelet with a truck.
Then on Wednesday morning the mayor of Aversa Alfonso Golia himself, contacted by residents, went to the site to verify the "disappearance" of the camp and the damage that remained. The Local Police of Aversa led by commander Antonio Piricelli was involved in the affair and immediately began investigations.
The officers interviewed witnesses and monitored social media, where photos of the heavy vehicle with which the three workers had arrived in via Bachelet had been published, and where the fences and soccer goals were loaded. The officers were able to trace the license plate of the truck, and discovered that the three thieves work for a company that deals with greenery.
The three were thus summoned to the Local Police Headquarters and reported for theft, damage and misappropriation.
Mayor Alfonso Golia said “deeply sorry for the episode, also because – he explained – it was a neighborhood pitch. Not the regulation ones, where very young children play with their parents and spend time outdoors. So I don't understand the reason for this delinquent act that seems premeditated to me”.
Displeasure was expressed by the president of the Aversa city council Roberto Romano, who spoke of a "wicked and vile criminal act".
