At the AOU San Giovanni di Dio e Ruggi d'Aragona in Salerno, the first Robotic Gynecological Surgery procedure in the province of Salerno was performed a few days ago, performed by the team of Dr. Mario Polichetti, Director of the High-Risk Pregnancy Department, and Dr. Francesco Marino, Director of the Gynecology and Obstetrics Department.
Specifically, it was a perfectly successful hysterectomy for fibromatous uterus and endometriosis, with a regular post-operative course.
The advanced and innovative technology of the Da Vinci XI Robot, acquired by the San Giovanni di Dio and Ruggi d'Aragona University Hospital of Salerno, allows for minimally invasive surgery, guaranteeing the patient a reduction in hospital stay and post-operative complications.
With Robotic surgery, complex pathologies are now addressed with the possibility of performing interventions in the urological, gynecological and general surgery fields. Satisfaction and enthusiasm for the doctors of the interested departments, who thank the Strategic and Presidio Management of Ruggi, for the opportunity to ensure Robotic surgery interventions also at the AOU of Salerno.
