On Thursday 16 March, at 10 am, at the Mediterranean Tourism Exchange (Mediterranean Hall, Pavilion 4 – Mostra d'Oltremare di Napoli) the Urban Tourism Observatory of the city of Naples will be presented.
The introduction is entrusted to the Councilor for Tourism and Productive Activities of the Municipality of Naples, Teresa Armato. The coordinator, Professor Valentina Della Corte, will present the Urban Tourism Observatory. Francesco Ambretti, Corporate service manager – Enterprise solution Vodafone Business Italia, will speak.
The Observatory is an experiment of a good practice that has seen the creation of a working group composed of expert professors from Neapolitan universities and the support – from a technical point of view – of Vodafone, which won the tender.
The ongoing project concerns the creation of an intelligent observatory that will be able to study both the demand (before, during and after the visit), with an advanced customer relationship management (CRM) system, and to examine the offer, the level of congruence of the services with respect to the expectations of tourists and any factors to overcome or enhance.
The observatory is an innovative formula not only on a national but also international scale. It represents an important reference for the strategic plan of the Department of Tourism and Productive Activities and for the newly established Destination Management Organization (DMO), a public-private structure aimed at promoting the image and tourist offer of the city.
“The Urban Tourism Observatory is an important tool that will serve to better orient our institutional planning in the tourism sector – Armato underlines -. Having a flow profile, understanding the needs of visitors, their origin, ages and expectations is more necessary than ever.
The traveler is looking for emotions, experiential tourism is increasingly sought after by tourists from all over the world. We have no shortage of experiences to live, we have real storytelling and we must implement strategies that support and enhance the tourist resource and at the same time the visitor who chooses our city and is looking for unusual itineraries and captivating events, alongside those already known”.
The Municipality of Naples is present at the BMT with a reserved space (Hall 4 stand n. 4027, 4028, 4029) in which videos will be shown on the tourist-cultural promotion initiatives already carried out and information material on the city's attractions will be available.
Guests who visit the stand of the Municipality of NAPLES will be 'captured' by the eye of "Vedi NAPOLI e poi Torni", the campaign that distinguishes the programming of the Department of Tourism and welcomed by students who will play jazz and classical Neapolitan music and by other students from fashion institutes who will wear the creations made in the classroom.
A special feature dedicated to young travellers will be presented at the stand on Friday 17th, at 11:30, by Viaggiapiccoli: the “Guida Napoli con Viaggiapiccoli” which enjoys the patronage of the Municipality of NAPLES. Speakers will include the Councillor for Tourism Teresa Armato, the authors Cristina Zagaria, Francesco De Rosa and Anna Rita Mautone, the tourist guides for children and many families.
