Jankto: “Coming out for myself and to help others”
“I came out first for myself and then to help others. – his words -. How much did I think about it before doing it? I knew it since I was little, but you tend to say 'I can continue in some way.'”
“Let's say that the football world is a bit homophobic, I've said it many times and we all know it, but it came to me suddenly, it wasn't something planned - he added -. It came to me like this and I'm not sorry I did it. Finally I can do what I want and I'm very happy."
Jankto: “It helped me to be at home, I received a lot of support”
“It helped me a lot to be at home - goes on -. If I had been in Spain or Italy I would never have said that. When you are at home it is different: in Italy they say 'home sweet home' and it is so, it is the truth”.
“The people here in Prague helped me a lot, Tomas Rosicky, Frantisek Cupr, coach Brian Priske, a big hats off to them. They were amazing. – explains Jankto -. I certainly won't name names, but there are other gay footballers. There were, there are and there will be."
Jankto: “Other gay footballers? There are, I hope my example helps them”
“I've received messages. I don't expect them to come out now, but maybe my example can help them, maybe in the future they'll think 'I can do it too'”, concluded the former Udinese and Sampdoria player from the stage of Napoli.
