“When I realized what was being done, the fraudulent system that had been put in place, I alerted the municipal police who arrived on site and found dozens of cars with disabled parking permits parked on the blue lines while the parking spaces assigned to them were occupied by garage customers. Those spaces were then vacated. Obviously I reported them.”
These are the words of the deputy of the Green-Left alliance Francesco Emilio Borrelli who Napoli, in via San Tommaso D'Aquino, discovered that a paid garage uses disabled parking spaces to park its customers' cars, assigning them progressive numbers displayed on the roofs of the cars.
"On this phenomenon - Borrelli claims - we need total repression, we need to be inflexible to restore legality and guarantee the rights of the disabled. Garages that use blue lines, disabled parking spaces and outdoor spaces to do business illegally must be fined and possibly even closed".
