“Crafts and tourism are two complementary and synergic activities. The increase in demand for tourist services in a location or area activates the increase in demand for craft products in the same location.
Entering an atelier, a laboratory or a workshop, observing the craftsman at work, participating in creative processes that are often centuries old, is a new way of travelling and a sophisticated way to get to know a territory.
It is up to the associations, the institutions, first of all, the Campania Region to work to qualify the offer of tourist services. Because this qualifies and develops the businesses and cities that, in recent times, have become too many open-air "frying shops".
This was stated in a note by Achille Capone (pictured right), provincial secretary of CLAAI (the Association of Crafts and Small and Medium Enterprises of the Campania region), who spoke at the round table entitled “The role of networks in regional tourism promotion” scheduled for this afternoon at the BMT (Mediterranean Tourism Exchange), inaugurated this morning by the Minister of Tourism Daniela Santanché at the Mostra d'Oltremare in Naples.
