Il Ministry of Culture, through the General Directorate of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape and the General Directorate of Museums, has allocated 13 million euro for the conservative restoration works of the Maschio Angioino, historic medieval and Renaissance castle, symbol of the city of Napoli.
Resources for 2,5 million euro, coming from the funds of the PNRR, are intended to remove physical and cognitive barriers, 6 million euro to the restoration and consolidation of the Triumphal Arch celebrating the conquest of the Kingdom of Naples by Alfonso of Aragon. The others 4,5 million, from the community funds of the action and cohesion plan, will be used for safety, the completion of architectural barriers and for the strengthening of the installations.
"It is important that the resources already allocated are spent immediately by the implementing bodies. I have encouraged the offices to proceed quickly. Other funds will be added to these funds on the basis of a project that resolves the problems of protection, conservation and enhancement of the Maschio Angioino", declared the Minister of Culture, Gennaro Sangiuliano.
