The severity of his injuries forced him to be hospitalized twice, each time giving different versions of what happened: the first time he said that the wound had been inflicted by a group of migrants at the height of an argument that broke out after they had made comments to his partner. The second time, however, he told the police that he had been involved in a phantom road accident in the Caserta area.
When he was accused of the mendacity of the statements made - the result of in-depth investigations - the man surrendered and accused his partner, adding that in the past he had already suffered violence at the hands of the woman.
