The State Police and the Penitentiary Police are executing an order for the application of precautionary measures issued by the investigating judge of the Court of Salerno, at the request of the local DDA, againstthe 56 people – of which 52 were arrested – investigated on various counts for association aimed at drug trafficking and for criminal association aimed at introducing and using cell phones in prison, as well as for other crimes related to the aforementioned criminal associations.

The events took place inside the Fuorni Prison in Salerno. Among those arrested were also numerous prison officers who, in exchange for money and other gifts, had agreed to do favors for the bosses and common inmates locked up in the Salerno penitentiary.
