Assunta, a 10-year-old girl, is out of danger. She was injured with her parents outside the Sant'Anastasia ice cream shop by a barrage of bullets fired by two young people, aged 19 and 17, both subjected to fermo for attempted murder.
The little girl was hit by a bullet in her cheekbone: the doctors at the Santobono pediatric hospital had to perform two surgeries yesterday, the prognosis for the little patient remains reserved but her life is not in danger. Her parents' conditions are not serious either.
The crazy shooting could have had even more serious consequences. In fact, there was a party going on in the bar where about ten children were participating, who were shocked by what happened but fortunately all unharmed.
Manfredi, stricter rules against use of weapons
“I have been in contact with the health workers, they all told me that the outcome is positive. Clearly we have to wait for the prognosis to be resolved. Fortunately there have been no consequences even more serious than an absurd gesture.
Unfortunately, we experience this violence committed by very young people who use weapons in a reckless manner and this is a major issue that must be addressed at a national level, because we need stricter rules, especially to limit this use and abuse of weapons".
The mayor of said this Napoli, Gaetano Manfredi, answering journalists' questions regarding the little girl injured in the Sant'Anastasia shooting, on the sidelines of the presentation of the Pizza Village.
