The Carabinieri of the lieutenancy of Herculaneum have saved la life to a man who late in the evening a few days ago attempted the suicide at home. The military intervened after the same individual had called 112 and made his intentions known with a voice broken by desperation.
The military themselves recounted the episode in a note: “The carabinieri of the lieutenancy of Herculaneum They immediately tracked down the house, reaching it in a few minutes. They broke a window and found him dangling, tied to the bars of the porch window. A rope was around his neck”.
“They quickly retrieved a knife from the kitchen and while one held him up to prevent him from suffocating, the other cut the rope. After resuscitation maneuvers, the victim slowly started breathing again and, when 118 arrived, he was immediately taken to the Ospedale del Mare. He is now safe, his life is not in danger and he was discharged after about 5 days of hospitalization”.
