PosillipoYesterday afternoon, officers from the General Prevention Office, during their territorial control service, on the orders of the Operations Center, intervened at a supermarket in Via Alessandro Manzoni following a report of a theft in progress.
The police officers, arriving on the scene, noticed two men with backpacks running towards the exit of the parking lot of the commercial establishment and stopped them, finding them in possession of several bottles of spirits and food, while one of the two was caught with a knife about 17 cm long, a pair of pliers and a screwdriver.
The operators found that the two, after having removed the products from the shelves of the business, had pushed both the owner and a security guard in an attempt to escape.
Two Georgians, aged 38 and 39, were arrested for aggravated robbery and personal injury; in addition, the 38-year-old was reported for carrying objects capable of causing offence.
Finally, the goods were returned to the owner of the supermarket.
