Today, the Casal di Principe Police Station executed a custodial order issued by the GIP of the Court of Naples North, at the request of this Public Prosecutor's Office, against the brothers FT, GT and GT, considered to be seriously suspected of the crime of attempted aggravated extortion (for all) and of receiving stolen goods and illegal possession of common firearms (FT and GT).
The facts date back to June 9, 2023, when, outside a bar located in the center of the municipality of San Cipriano d'Aversa, a gunshot was fired at a car, which pierced the tailgate, near the rear window.
The immediate investigation activities allowed to detect that the shooter was the driver of a car who, after having followed the one hit, had opened fire and then fled in the direction of San Marcellino.
The subsequent development of the investigations, supported by an important analysis of the video surveillance systems present in the area and the cross-referencing of the relevant evidence with further information acquisitions, allowed to ascertain that the event had been the epilogue of a violent fight that had taken place a few minutes before between the two people present inside the car hit by the gunshot and the two occupants of the car from which the shot had been fired.
Furthermore, the investigative activities, directed by the Public Prosecutor's Office and carried out by the Police Station, allowed us to understand how the affair was in turn the last act of an extortion repeatedly attempted by the three brothers against the driver of the car hit by the gunshot, which began with death threats sent via voice messages using a well-known messaging app and arose from the refusal to pay the amount required for the rental of a luxury car.
As revealed by the numerous video materials identified by investigators, immediately after the events, the three brothers reunited and, after taking a rifle from the house of one of them, disappeared, making themselves untraceable.
On the basis of the serious circumstantial evidence collected, given the existence of precautionary needs, this Public Prosecutor's Office requested the issuing of the restrictive measure executed today.
