The film is based on the book “Diary of a Conscience”.
“Boys, rebel against a destiny written by others. Study.” These words were spoken by Nunzio Giuliano, from the infamous criminal family of the Forcella neighborhood of Naples. In the 80s, after the drug-related death of his seventeen-year-old son, he dissociated himself from the Camorra, distancing himself from his previous life and from any dealings of the clan.
And he begins his battle to keep young people away from crime, with interventions in churches and schools, as well as interviews and appeals on TV. He is killed on March 21, 2005 in an ambush in Via Tasso in Naples.
His ideal testament is collected in the posthumous book 'Diary of a conscience. I Nunzio Giuliano', edited by Maria Rosaria Rivieccio and Roberto Marrone with a preface by Aldo Masullo and Corrado Gabriele, published by his friend and editor Tullio Pironti. A powerful book with the passionate words written by Nunzio who invites the clan leaders to collaborate with justice and surrender to the State.
Producer Luciano Stella announces the acquisition of the rights to the book to make a film about the story of the Giuliano rebel, a project he has been thinking about since Nunzio was killed, right in the center of Naples. It will be a production by Mad Entertainment, the creative and productive factory founded in Naples in 2010 by Luciano Stella, Maria Carolina Terzi, Carlo and Lorenza Stella, who lives in the heart of Naples, in the historic apartments where Vittorio De Sica filmed 'L'oro di Napoli' and 'Matrimonio all'italiana'.
A place where the challenge of bringing together artists and audiovisual professionals in the fields of cinema, documentary, fiction and animation was born.
